Terms of Use

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of DiscordTextTools ("the site"), including every tool, guide and article published on it. Please read them before using the site.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this website and its tools, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of them, please stop using the site.

If you are under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), you should not use this site. Discord itself requires users to be at least 13.

2. What the Service Is

The site provides free, browser-based utilities for formatting text, previewing Discord markdown, compressing media files, generating timestamps and similar tasks, plus written guides on Discord formatting. All tools run locally in your browser. We provide no accounts, no storage, and no server-side processing of your content.

The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue any tool or page at any time, without notice, including for reasons outside our control such as a browser removing an API a tool depends on.

3. Acceptable Use

These tools are provided free of charge for personal and community use. You agree not to:

  • use the site to create, distribute or facilitate content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes anyone else's rights;
  • use the site to impersonate another person, or to evade a ban, block, moderation action or safety system on Discord or any other platform;
  • attack, overload, probe or otherwise interfere with the site's infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it;
  • scrape, mirror, or bulk-download the site or its content for republication, or use automated systems to access it in a way that places unreasonable load on it;
  • remove, obscure or interfere with any advertising, notices or attribution displayed on the site.

You are solely responsible for the content you enter into the tools and for anything you generate with them and then publish elsewhere.

4. No Affiliation with Discord

This site is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Discord Inc. or any of its subsidiaries. "Discord" and the Discord logo are trademarks of Discord Inc., referenced here only to describe compatibility. Your use of Discord remains governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and nothing here overrides them.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We make no guarantee that any tool will produce a particular result, that output will be free of errors, or that information in our guides is complete or current. Discord changes its limits, formatting behaviour and interface without notice, and our content may lag behind those changes.

Keep your originals. The file compressor is a lossy process and produces a new file; it does not modify your source file, but you should never rely on this site as the only copy of anything you care about.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, goodwill or reputation, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the site — whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

We are not responsible for what you type, generate, upload, or send to other people using our tools, nor for any consequence of doing so, including moderation action taken against you on Discord or elsewhere.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

7. Intellectual Property

The code, design, layout, branding and written content of this site are our copyright, except where stated otherwise. You may not copy, republish or redistribute substantial portions of our articles or interface without permission. Short quotations with clear attribution and a link back are fine.

Your output belongs to you. Text you generate, bios you create and files you compress are yours. We claim no ownership over them and, because processing happens entirely in your browser, we never receive a copy of them in the first place.

Discord's design language, logos and interface paradigms remain the intellectual property of Discord Inc. Unicode characters used by the font tools are part of a public standard and are not owned by anyone.

8. Copyright Complaints

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe material published on this site infringes your copyright, contact us through our contact page with a description of the work, the URL where it appears, and confirmation that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We will review and remove infringing material where the claim is valid.

9. Advertising and Third-Party Links

This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Adverts are supplied by third parties and their presence is not an endorsement of the advertiser, its products or its claims. How advertising cookies are handled, and how to change your consent, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Our guides link to external sites, including Discord's own documentation. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent through our contact page.
